Byakuya begins to fight Ichigo, promising to execute Rukia himself. 4th division captain Retsu Unohana personally heals all of the injured present, and travels to a location that concerns her. Shunsui and Ukitake flee the execution area, but are confronted by Yamamoto. In an overwhelming display, Yamamoto activates his shikai and incinerates the surrounding area.
