The episode starts off with Chad finishing off Demora, while Uryu has already fatally wounded Iceringer. With the two arrancar defeated, the room collapses, forcing Ichigo, Chad, and Uryu to make their way outside. Upon seeing the massive Las Noches palace, they begin running towards it, impeded by the various natural hazards of the desert. Meanwhile, Aizen gathers the Espada to inform them of the intrusion, making sure to stress that they are not to be underestimated, but likewise not to be considered an immediate threat. Back outside, the trio come across three hollows chasing what appears to be a human child, and decide to help.
