The arrancar is revealed to be able to disguise itself as the human souls it has devoured, which both increases its power and makes it impossible to find while disguised. Upon learning of the attack on Yui by the arrancar, Hitsugaya assumes she is one of the copies, something an attempted soul burial seems to confirm. Still unsure, Hitsugaya has Soul Society track the disguised arrancar while Yui is sealed within a barrier. The analysis confirms Yui is one of the clones, and also reveals the cloning power came from her in the first place. Shota, being her brother, seems to have similar powers, and Yui uses him to break the barrier so she can lure him to the park and devour him.
