The battle between Ichigo and Kariya continues. Kariya reveals his doll, Messer's true form, which uses wind friction that generates static electricity which becomes lightning. Kariya declares that he plans to release all of the Jokaisho by releasing one, which will obliterate everything in Soul Society. Rukia and Renji arrive on the battle scene. Rukia proceeds to go help Ichigo, but Renji pulls her back, telling her that it is Ichigo's fight. Suddenly, Ichigo's hollow persona reveals itself momentarily in the form of an eye color change, catching Kariya by surprise. He reveals that he can no longer absorb spirit particles because Rantao sealed his absorption skills. The scene shifts to the efforts of the other squads in sealing the scattered Jokaisho. Kariya then attempts to explode a Jokaisho, but Byakuya Kuchiki uses his bankai to stop his attempt.....
